Pueblo fue la primera pintura que hice al llegar a Vejer de la Frontera. Surge de caminar los alrededores de mi taller y de registrar fragmentos del pueblo, más que lugares reconocibles. Las imágenes interactúan con cartón recogido en la calle, como si el lugar se reconstruyera a partir de sus propios restos. La pintura mantiene unidos los fragmentos y fija un primer intento de situarme en un entorno nuevo.
Pueblo was the first painting I made after arriving in Vejer de la Frontera. It emerged from walking around my studio and registering fragments of the town rather than recognisable places. The images interact with cardboard collected from the street, as if the place were being rebuilt from its own remnants. The painting holds the fragments together and marks an initial attempt to situate myself within a new environment.
